A business-class Windows tablet PC, the EliteBook 810 G1 functions as a notebook in clamshell mode that can easily swivel into a tablet. The tablet is highly responsive to finger swipes and taps, and navigating the menus is relatively easy. Additionally, the clearly labeled Power, Wi-Fi and Web buttons along the edge of the chassis make it simple to accomplish tasks and enable connectivity within seconds.

HP designed the HP EliteBook Revolve primarily for business use and as such, all the necessary software to get you up and going is included so you won't need to spend hours and hours installing software and applications. The EliteBook Revolve has an attractive, silver-and-black body made from brushed aluminum and magnesium. This translates into a durable and rugged yet sleek tablet PC. It can even withstand several drops from up to 30 inches. There is also a rubberized portion on the bottom of the keyboard and a coarse thumb patch on the display's back panel to enable easy gripping.

The EliteBook Revolve is a solidly built machine weighing approximately 3 pounds; it measures nearly 1 foot in width and 8.3 inches deep. Despite its easy-gripping features, using the tablet one-handed probably isn't feasible for most users.

Like most of the tablet PCs in our lineup, the 11.6-inch display screen rotates 180 degrees on a stationary hinge and folds down over the keyboard to convert the device into a tablet. The screen snaps into place so it remains fixed while in tablet mode.

The technical specifications of the HP EliteBook are one of the most appealing things about the device. For starters, this HP tablet includes the 3rd-gen Intel Core i5 processor. While this isn't the latest and greatest processor, it's still great for multitasking and power management. The solid-state drive capacity is 128GB, which should be more than sufficient for saving data if you use the EliteBook as a secondary or supplementary computing device.

The tablet sports a speedy 4GB of RAM. It also has Intel HD Graphics 4000, enabling a sharp user interface and crisp, high-definition graphics. However, this system is not ideal – nor intended – for anything graphics-heavy, such as gaming.

The EliteBook Revolve is furnished with an array of ports, including two USB 3.0 ports, a memory card reader and Ethernet. It's equipped with a range of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It has a battery life of up to eight hours, so you will be able to work all day without having to recharge.

Other notable tech specs include a built-in webcam, a microphone and audio input for speakers or headphones. These features are standard on most tablet PCs and are ideal for video conferencing. The webcam, however, is only 720p; the latest tablet PCs now have up to 1080p.

Despite a mostly impressive feature set, there are a few noticeable drawbacks. There's no HDMI port, which may not be a downside for all users. At any rate, it's yet another indication that the device is targeted more toward business and corporate users and not general consumers.

Technical support is rendered in a variety of ways, including email, telephone and online chat. Business customers with a valid warranty can also submit support cases to receive one-on-one assistance.

Before contacting HP directly, we recommend utilizing the available online resources, which are comprehensive, informative and helpful. On the HP customer support page, you'll find a self-help section replete with software and driver downloads, product registration help, troubleshooting guides, and both consumer and business support forums.

Under the EliteBook Revolve page, we found information on how to configure the device, register the product and perform regular maintenance. Furthermore, a FAQs section, user manual and product videos answered all of our pending questions about the device.
